A former Latics trainee, Ross scored the two goals that secured the 2007 Pontins League title for the Boundary Park second string, featuring alongside a number of players currently appearing in League One. 

He was released at the end of the following season and came to Ashton via short spells at Witton, Leigh and Knutsford Town.
