Marlin is a full international for the Democratic Republic of Congo and scored one of the goals that helped his country reach the 2004 African Cup of Nations finals, featuring stars such as Eto'o, Okocha and Kanu, where he was a team mate of Lomana Lua Lua of Newcastle United, appearing in the finals under the management of Englishman Mick Wadsworth. 

Originally with French Club ES Troyes, for whom he made two French Ligue 1 apearances, he has also played in Belgium, Romania and most recently Israel as well as the length and breadth of England, having featured at Leyton Orient (trial) and Barrow.  He signed for Ashton in the summer of 2009.
